Red Lentil Soup

This soup is so special to me because my grandma always made it. It was our soup we made when we were clearing out our fridge.


I distinctly remember the fried onions she would make that went right on top of the soup.



Ingredients you need:

  • 1 cup red lentils

  • 1-2 Potatoes

  • 1-2 Tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp Cumin

  • 5 cups vegetable Broth

  • 1 Yellow onions

  • 2 Celery stalks

  • 2 Carrots

  • 1 tbsp Salt & Pepper

  • Pinch of Red pepper flakes

  • 1 tbsp Garlic



What I love about this is that you can add any veggies in this soup and blend it up. My must haves would have to be potatoes and tomatoes just because they go so well with the red lentils.


  1. Sauté onion, celery and carrots in avocado oil.

  2. Add your rinsed red lentils and any additional veggies you have on hand (potatoes and tomatoes go great with This)

  3. Add your seasonings and broth

  4. Allow mixture to come to a boil and then simmer for 20 minutes

  5. Blend the mixture together and enjoy ♥️

  6. Optional: fry some onions and add on top.
